Materials:
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Hot Red
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle
Piece of cardboard 5 inches long
Note- Ch 3 equals first dc of row, ch 4 equals first tr of row, throughout.

Garnet Fire Motif (Make 2):
With Hot Red, ch 4, sl st to form ring.
Row 1- Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 3, 3 dc in ring, ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 2 tr in first dc of row, ch 3, 3 tr, ch 3 3 tr in ch-3 space of center shell, ch 3, 3 tr in last dc of row.
Row 3-Ch 3, 1 dc in same spot as dc, ch 3, skip 1 tr, 2 dc in next tr, ch 4, skip next ch sp and next tr, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in next tr, ch 2, 1 sc in center of next ch sp, skip next dc, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in
next tr, skip next tr, ch 3, 2 dc in next tr, ch 3, skip 1 tr, 2 dc in last tr. Row 4- Ch 3, 2 dc in same spot, ch 1, 1 sc in next ch sp, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in center chain of next chain sp, ch 1, 1 sc in next chain sp, ch 2,
2 dc in next ch sp, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch sp, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch sp, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, in center ch of next ch sp, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch sp, 3 dc in last dc of row. Ch 1.
Row 5- Turn the piece around, the bottom of it facing up, make 7 sc across, ch 5, 2 dc ch 2 2 dc in bottom of center shell, ch 5, 1 sc in top of first dc of center shell, make 7 sc across.
Row 6- Ch 4, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc, 2 dc in next ch sp, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in center of shell, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch sp, ch 1, 1 dc in next sc, *ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc, rep from * across.
Row 7- Ch 4, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, rep till you reach first 2-dc shell, skip that 2-dc shell, 2 dc in next ch sp, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in center shell chain sp, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch sp, skip next 2-dc shell, ch 2, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch.
Fasten off. Weave in tail.
Scarflet Body, Left Side- Row 1- Join Hot Red to the "flat" or straight edge side of the Garnet Fire Motif, right in top of thedc that is before the ch-2 space of corner shell, ch 4 in that spot, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in ch-2 space of corner shell, ch 1, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 1 dc, 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, 1 dc in between next 2 dc, ch 1,
1 dc in between next 2 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip next dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in ch-2 sp of corner shell, ch 1, 1 dc in next chain of corner shell. Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- Skip till next dc, 1 dc in that dc, *ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, rep from * across. Rows 3 to 6- Rep row 2. Ch 4. turn. Row 7- Make 1 tr in next ch-1 sp, 1 tr in next dc, 1 tr in next ch-1 sp, ch 12, without letting the chain twist, skip next 15 dcs and chain spaces (15 stitches in total) and work 1 tr in next ch-1 sp, 1 tr in next dc, 1 tr in next ch-1 sp, 1 tr in top of turning ch (keyhole made). Ch 4, turn.
Row 8- 1 tr in each of next 3 tr, 1 tr in each of next 15 ch, 1 tr in each tr till end of row. Ch 4, turn. Rows 9 to 15- Work 1 tr in each tr across. Fasten off, weave in tail.

Row 2- Skip till next dc, 1 dc in that dc, *ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, rep from * across. Rows 3 to 6- Rep row 2. Ch 4. turn. Row 7- Work 1 tr in each ch-1 sp and in each dc across. Ch 4, turn. Row 8- 1 tr in each tr across. Ch 4, turn. Rows 9 to 15- Make 1 tr in each tr across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to se with.
Turn the two pieces tothe wrong side and sew together both pieces (join will be to the back of neck). Fasten off and weave in tail.

Take piece of cardboard, wind yarn around it and gently take it out, cut yarn on the bottom of the loops, insert loops into the chain space of the center shell that points downward in your scarflet. Tie the yarn around with another piece of Hot Red. Fasten off to the back.
Repeat on the other end. Match size of tassel.
